One day, on a whim, we took a 40-lb bag of dog food to the local shelter... and came back with a 40-lb. dog.

Luke was a 10-month-old collie mix, yet another stray found wandering the streets. Young and boundlessly energetic, he's proved to be a handful, so obedience training will be a must. However, who could have forseen that he and Bonnie would fall in love at first sight? We couldn't have asked for a better companion for her -- they are utterly devoted to each other.

Summer Update: Luke's introduction into our household turned out to be more difficult than we anticipated. See Luke for a detailed explanation of the adjustments we all went through.

Fall Update: Bonnie and Luke -- aka Mr. Destructo -- go on an adventure.

Winter 2001 Update: All's well that ends well. Luke is so bonded to us now that it's hard to get him to leave our side. Ironically, now that we have a fenced in yard, he can't bear to be away from us and begs to come inside.
